I recently paid an Entry Only agent to list my mother's house on MLS. My mothers house is old and in need of a lot of work but its in a very desirable neighborhood and the lot is zoned for a two family dwelling. I has hoping to attract a developer to buy the house AS-IS. The house has only been up for about half a day but I've already received several calls from agents requesting showings.
However one call stood out an I wasn't sure if this is some sort of scam.
The called left me a message saying they where with "Generic sounding real estate company A" and that they had an offer for me. I called he number back a few times but it went to a voicemail box that was full. The company in question doesn't have its own site but I did find an entry on
https://www.mlspinhomes.com and realtor.com for the agent who called me. the company address is listed on there but its to some random condo in town.
My question is, is this some sort of scam? What should I be on the lookout for if the agent calls me back?
